DESCRIPTION OF THE ROUTE
The route starts at the Visitor Reception Centre in the Plaza del Azoguejo [Azoguejo Square] in front of the aqueduct, and continues up Calle Real [Royal Street] (pedestrian), made up of 3 streets, Calle de Cervantes [Cervantes Street], Calle de Juan Bravo [Juan Bravo Street], Plaza del Corpus Christi [Corpus Christi Square] and Calle Isabel la Católica [Isabel la Católica Street], which opens out onto the Plaza Mayor [Main Square]. The route continues along Calle Marqués del Arco [Marqués del Arco Street] which starts on the square, then along Calle Daoíz [Daoíz Street] and the Plazuela de Juan Guas [Juan de Guas Small Square] to finish at the Alcázar [Fortress].
AZOGUEJO SQUARE
Type of street: pedestrian

Gradient of square: parts are completely flat and others on a slight gradient of between 3,5% and 5,2%
Note: stone benches with arm and back rests at a height of 43 cm are available. These are located in front of the Visitor Reception Centre
ROYAL STREET

MAIN SQUARE
Both vehicles and pedestrians circulate on the square

Note: to one side of the Main Street the Cathedral of Segovia is located
All entrances to the square have a width greater than 2 m and level access
Stone benches are located in the centre and the edges of the square with iron arm an back rests, the seat is 47 cm in height
In the Main Street, on the corner of San Frutos Street, public toilets are located which can be accessed via steps. Disabled toilets are not available
MARQUÉS DEL ARCO STREET
Type of street: vehicular
Pavement width: varies between 2,50 m and 96 cm. From the Main Square until nº30, the street and pavements are the same level but, between nº30 until Daoíz Street, there is a 5 cm step between the pavement and the road
Paving: even stone labs until nº30. After this the street and sidewalks are paved in uneven cobblestones
Turning radios: > Ø 1,50 m
Dropped curbs: yes
Gradient of street: 3,5%, slight downward slope
Bollards: height 70 cm, distance apart 2,50 m. These separate the pedestrian area from vehicle traffic.
It is recommended to walk on the right-hand side as the left is very narrow and, in some parts, there is no pavement
DAOIZ STREET
Type of street: vehicular
Pavement width: between 73 and 76 cm. There is only pavement on the left-hand side
Paving: uneven cobblestones which can make transit difficult
Turning radius: < Ø 1,50 m
Dropped curbs: no. Between the pavement and the road there is a drop which varies between 3 and 5 cm
Gradient: average downward gradient between 3,5% and 10,5%
ACCESSIBILITY FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED
SIGNPOSTING AND INFORMATION
At different locations in the city, tourist information panels are located. These indicate how to reach nearby monuments.
The panels can be freely accessed and are at a suitable height for a person standing.
In the tourist information offices, various tourist leaflets are available.
ACCESSIBILITY FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ROUTE
In pedestrian areas (pavements, squares and pedestrian streets) paving is of even stone slabs.
Along the first stretch of Marqués del Arco Street, the pedestrian area is separated from the road traffic by bollards and, in the second stretch until the end of the route, pavements narrow and pedestrian tend to walk in the road. The road is cobbled and uneven and can cause difficulty for transit.
There are no steps along the route, or major slopes, or protruding objects which could pose a risk to the visually impaired although, depending on the time of year, furniture used by restaurants and stores on the main square and pedestrian streets can pose difficulties for transit.
There is no tactile paving to aid the visually impaired.
SIGNS
The panels do not have audio or tactile references to aid the visually impaired to locate them; texts are complimented with braille.

Access: entrance is through a portico, it has three steps of 16 cm, to one side at the corner of Santa Columba Street and Cervantes Street there is an access ramp which is 3,85 m long, 1,50 m wide and at a gradient of 3,5%. There are two manually-operated glass entrance doors, marked with a logo without colour contrast. The doors open inwards and are each 92 cm wide. Inside the door is a security scanner.
Getting around: the office is on the ground floor and there is each area has easy access.
Disabled toilet: accessible on the ground floor. Inward-opening door 87 cm wide. Turning space 1,50 m in diameter. Toilet with right-hand transfer space of 74 cm and more than 1,20 m to the front. There is movable grab bar on the right and a fixed one on the left, at a height of 67-88 cm with a distance of 75 cm between them.
