D.O. RUEDA:

This was the first Designation of Origin in Castilla y León, beginning the process in 1985. It is of the Verdejo grape variety, white, of high-quality and international renown. Since 2008, red wines have also been included under this Designation of Origin. Further information: www.dorueda.com

VALTIENDAS:

This is the first and only Designation of Origin in the province of Segovia. DO Valtiendas comprises wines from five vineyards and is recognised by experts as one of the best wine-producing areas in Castilla y León for high quality wines. Further information: www.vinosdevaltiendas.com

DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN RIBERA DEL DUERO:

Situated along a stretch of the Duero River basin, of some 115 km in length. In 2005, the Ribera del Duero vineyards made up 20 % of wine-producing land in Spain. They are mostly red wines, although there are some rosés. The towns in the province included in this area are: Honrubia de la Cuesta, Montejo de la Vega de la Serrezuela, Villaverde de Montejo and Aldehorno, although la Bodega Aldekoa is the only winery located in the province.

Pago de Carraovejas is a famed wine from this Designation, but the vineyard is situated in the province of Valladolid. This wine can be consumed in José María restaurant.

VINOS DE LA TIERRA DE CASTILLA Y LEÓN:

This is a geographical indication used to designate table wines made from grapes produced in the autonomous region of Castilla y León.
